
About Us
Dilanthi is a Mental Health Counsellor, registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and is currently working in the not-for-profit sector as a Counsellor and Clinical Coordinator with Lifeline Northern Beaches. She has worked in the NSW Hospital system as a rehab counsellor, assisting patients suffering acute mental health disorders and substance addiction.
Dilanthi was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Australia as a teenager. She has a lived experience of adjusting to western society as a teenager and later supporting her multicultural family navigate the social and psychological challenges they encountered. This provides her with a deep appreciation of the impact of these challenges on family systems and values. This allows her to bring a unique multicultural lens to her counselling process and work with a diverse client base.
Dilanthi aims to provide a counselling space that allows individuals to feel heard and supported. She brings qualities of kindness, non-judgement and empathy to her counselling practice and strives to assist her clients gain a deeper self-awareness and to live more productive and satisfying lives.
Dilanthi applies a trauma informed approach to her counselling having completed trauma training with the Blue Knot Foundation and STARTTS. She uses an integrative style of counselling combining a range of evidence based psychological approaches together with mindfulness and wellbeing practices, to ensure the therapy provided is unique and client focused.
